Micro-Calcificacion Hepatica

From HIGADO

Hepatic Microcalcification

To broaden the view in the cases of heterotopic calcifications that occur in different places in the human body (muscles, aponeurosis, subcutaneous cellular tissue, etc.) we show here the case of a heterotopic calcification of a girl of 2 years and 10 months of age that alarmed his mother when she was discovered in a chest X-ray performed on the occasion of a severe flu process. The doctor recommended performing the sonography to rule out any other pathology and especially to bring peace of mind to the family. Here we show the image of a hyper-echogenic focus, calcified and therefore producing a posterior echogenic shadow (as always when we have an area of calcification), at the level of the diaphragm muscle and following the inter-lobar hepatic separation line, possibly the girl developed (in the past) an inflammatory process in the area, and as a result, calcium was deposited in the inflamed area.
This shows that these processes do not respect ages since our previous example was that of an 80-year-old patient and this of a 2-year-ten-month-old girl.
