Piomiositis del Esternocleidomastoideo
Paciente femenina de 40 años de edad a la cual recientemente le fue drenado absceso en fosa supraclavicular izquierda, muy cerca de la articulación interna de la clavícula y el esternón. Viene para valorar masa que le ha aparecido a nivel del tercio medio del cuello, en lado izquierdo.
Al examen eco-sonografico con transductor linear de 7,5 MHz se aprecia nódulo fusiforme,hipo-ecogenico, con material ecogeno en su interior, paredes engrosadas y refuerzo ecogenico posterior, se localiza por dentro de la fascia del músculo esterno-cleido-mastoideo izquierdo, mide aprox: 3,1 x 2,5 x 1,5 cm.
En fosa supraclavicular derecha se visualiza imagen con características eco-sonograficas similares pero de forma mas redondeada, mide 1,3 x 1,3 cm.
La paciente refiere que ha sufrido fiebres altas con escalofríos intensos. Dice que su madre siempre la ha dicho que tiene " las defensas bajas ".
Se concluye con el diagnostico de Absceso del músculo esterno-cleido-mastodeo y absceso en fosa supraclavicular derecha.
Pyomyositis of the Sterno-cleido-mastoid
Female patient 40 years of age which was recently drained abscess in left supraclavicular fossa, near the internal articulation of the clavicle and sternum. Comes to assess mass that has appeared at the middle third of the neck, left side.
The eco-sonographic examination with 7.5 MHz linear transducers fusiform nodule is seen, hypo-echogenic, with echogenic material inside walls thickened and echogenic posterior enhancement, is located inside the fascia of the Sterno-cleido-mastoid- muscle, left, measures approx: 3.1 x 2.5 x 1.5 cms.
Right supraclavicular fossa image is displayed eco-sonographic features similar but more rounded form, measuring 1.3 x 1.3 cms.
The patient reported having suffered a high fever with severe chills. She says his mother always has said she has "the defenses down. "
It concludes with the diagnosis of abscess-cleido Sterno-mastoid muscle and right supraclavicular fossa abscess.
