Sialolitiasis

Paciente masculino de 24 años de edad con evolución de nódulo sub-mandibular derecho de 9 años. Es indoloroso, no adherido a planos profundos o superficiales, blando y ahora desea eliminarlo por motivos estéticos. Refiere que ha pasado por periodos durante los cuales ha aumentado de tamaño y luego ha regresado al tamaño actual. Tras mucho insistir admite que en ocasiones presenta cierto grado de re-sequedad bucal y de halitosis.
Al examen eco-sonografico del área con transductor linear de 7,5 MHz se aprecia glándula Parótida aumentada de volumen con material grumoso en su interior, con refuerzo ecogenico posterior, mide aprox: 3,6 x 2,8 x 1,5 cms. En su porción mas anterior se visualiza pequeña imagen hiper-ecogenica, con intensa sombra ecogenica posterior, mide aprox: 4,1 X 5,0 mm. Se realiza el diagnostico de obstrucción por calculo ( Sialolitiasis ) del Conducto de Stenon. La glándula salivar sub-maxilar acoge entre el 80 al 90 % de todas las sialolitiasis, 6 % en la Parotidas y alrededor del 2% en la glándula salivar sub-lingual.

The sub-maxillary salivary gland receives between 80 to 90% of all sialolithiasis, 6% in the parotid and about 2% in the sublingual salivary gland.
