Steroids & Injuries in Male Breast
Male patient, 31 years old with a history of anabolic steroids and oral intramuscularly to achieve increased body mass. 8 months ago began to notice hard nodules, without pain in both breasts. Physical examination shows mild bilateral gynecomastia and hard nodules palpable, mobile, in both breasts. Right breast at 12 hours, at a depth of 0.78 cm, solid nodule, hypo-echogenic, in regular and well-defined limits, measures approximately 0.66 x 0.49 cms. At 11 hours another solid nodule, intensely hypo-echogenic, with micro-calcifications in its interior and ill-defined back wall at a depth of about 0.55 cm, is approx 0.52 x 0.41 cms. At 9.30 am position, solid nodule, hypo-echogenic posterior wall undefined depth of about 0.51 cm, measures approx 0.56 x 0.40 cms. Left breast in the 01 hours position, depth of 0.46 cm, hypo-echogenic solid nodule, measuring approximately 0.41 x 0.35 cms. The same patient expressed regret for having made the mistake of taking steroids for that purpose . Color Doppler showed no increased blood flow to and within the lesions described.
