Absceso Hepático

Paciente femenino de tres meses de edad que nació con atresia de vías biliares, debido a ello, fue operada para corregir el defecto congénito. Tras la cirugía desarrolló proceso febril severo, con escalofríos y marcada distensión abdominal. El examen sonografico demostró ausencia de Vesícula Biliar ( Colecistectomia ) y la presencia de área hipoecogenica ,nodular, de tipo mixto, localizada en segmento posterior del lóbulo derecho del hígado, sus límites son algo irregulares, mide aprox 3,19 X 2,88 X 1,35 cm. En área pre-esplenica se aprecia pequeña cantidad de líquido ascitico. Se concluye con el diagnóstico de Absceso Hepático. Tras el tratamiento antibiótico, el cuadro clínico ha mejorado significativamente.

Liver Abscess

A female patient three months old who was born with biliary atresia, as a result, had surgery to correct the defect. After surgery developed severe febrile illness with chills and abdominal distension. The sonographic examination showed the absence of gallbladder (cholecystectomy), and the presence of hypo-echogenic area, nodular, mixed type, located in the posterior segment of the right lobe of the liver, its boundaries are somewhat irregular, measures approx 3.19 X 2,88 X 1.35 cm. In the pre-splenic area is appreciated a small amount of ascitic fluid. It concludes with the diagnosis of Liver Abscess. After antibiotic treatment, the clinical picture has improved significantly.
