Tenosinovitis Tendon Extensor Pulgar

Llamada también Tenosinovitis de Quervain se trata del engrosamiento inflamatorio de la polea o vaina del tendón extensor del dedo Pulgar, se localiza a nivel de la apófisis estiloide radial. Al examen físico se detecta tumefacción subcutánea dura, dolorosa a nivel radial de la muñeca. En nuestro caso paciente femenina de 58 años  que presenta dicha tumefacción en muñeca izquierda con dolor espontáneo y a la palpación que se incrementa con la movilidad del dedo pulgar y se extiende hacia arriba llegando casi hasta el hueco del codo siguiendo la dirección del tendón extensor largo del pulgar. El examen sonografico de la zona muestra engrosamiento en forma de área hipoecogenica fusiforme justo encima de la apófisis estiloide de la muñeca izquierda, el engrosamiento mide aprox 1,58 X 0.51 X 0.57 cm lo cual nos lleva a la conclusión diagnóstica de Tenosinovitis de Quervain del tendón extensor del dedo pulgar izquierdo.

Tendon Extensor Tenosynovitis Thumb

Also called Quervain tenosynovitis is an inflammatory thickening of the pulley or extensor tendon sheath of the thumb, is located at the level of the radial styloid process. Physical examination hard, painful to the wrist radial subcutaneous swelling was detected. In our case, 58 female patients having such swelling in left wrist pain and tenderness spontaneous that increases with the mobility of the thumb and extends upward almost to the crook of his elbow in the direction along with the extensor tendon thumb. The sonographic examination shows the thickening area as the hypo-echogenic fusiform area just above the styloid process of the left wrist, the thickening is approx 1.58 X 0.51 X 0.57 cm which leads us to the conclusion diagnosed with tenosynovitis of Quervain of the extensor tendon of the left thumb.
