Sindrome de Reiter
En medicina , como en otras áreas, existen nombres sonoros o mejor dicho, nombres que " nos suenan bien " , con lo cual quiero decir que los recordamos con facilidad. Con este síndrome me pasa eso, lo recuerdo con facilidad …Reiter...Reiter, me es fácil recordarlo. Al leer la noticia , me enteré del origen obscuro del personaje que se le atribuye su descripción, aunque parece ser que ya existía tal descripción. Para mi, eso no es relevante, lo importante es cuanto sufre un paciente cuando padece este mal. Otro aspecto que me hace recordar este síndrome, es porque hace muchos años, al esposo de una prima muy querida ( hipocondríacos hasta la locura , ambos ) le fue diagnosticado este mal y sucedió que le hice una sonografía abdominal como parte del protocolo de exploración del médico que le vio y le hizo el diagnostico " a mano pelá " (sic) o sea solo armado con sus conocimientos, haciendo clínica de modo brillante.
El esposo de la prima viajó a E.E.U.U. donde fue examinado exhaustivamente, a un costo elevadísimo de dólares ( creo que fueron 18 o 28 mil dólares ) y regresó de allá, alabando en demasía lo grandioso de la medicina gringa. Oyéndole tales barrabasadas, y viéndole tan entusiasmado con lo que me decía ,no me dejó más remedio que hacerle las siguientes preguntas:
1.- Cuanto te cobraron allá ?...…Repuesta 18-28 mil dólares
2.-Que diagnostico te dieron ?----------Repuesta...El mismo de aquí
3.-Que tratamiento te pusieron ?---Repuesta------El mismo de aquí
4.-Cuanto le pagaste al medicucho de aquí ?? 200 pesos dominicanos o sea unos 5 dólares
Entonces le dije …Y de que mierd.......me hablas ? Porque no vas a pedirles disculpas al medicucho de aquí que, con su inteligencia y conocimientos y con nada más, te hizo un buen examen, un buen diagnostico y te dio el mejor tratamiento posible ???
No obtuve ninguna repuesta por lo que hasta la fecha, no he vuelto a pisar su casa, a pesar de que la prima, me lo ha pedido encarecidamente
Aquí en República Dominicana, muchos padecen del llamado popularmente " Síndrome de Guacanagarix ", Cacique Indígena, que pensaba que todo lo español era mejor, solo por el hecho de ser español o dígase de otro modo: Todo lo extranjero es mejor ( cosa que no es cierta ), hay mejores, peores e iguales

Reiter's syndrome
In medicine, as in other areas, there are sound names or rather, names that "sound good to us", by which I mean that we remember them easily. With this syndrome that happens to me, I remember it easily ... Reiter ... Reiter, it is easy for me to remember. When reading the news, I learned of the obscure origin of the character that his description is attributed to him, although it seems that such a description already existed. For me, that is not relevant, the important thing is how much a patient suffers when he suffers from this disease. Another aspect that reminds me of this syndrome is because many years ago, the husband of a very dear cousin (hypochondriacs to madness, both) was diagnosed with this disease and it happened that I did an abdominal sonogram as part of the protocol for the exploration of the doctor who saw him and made the diagnosis "by hand pelá" (sic), that is, only armed with his knowledge, doing clinics brilliantly.
The cousin's husband traveled to the United States. where he was thoroughly examined, at a very high cost of dollars (I think it was 18 or 28 thousand dollars) and he returned from there, praising too much the greatness of American medicine. Hearing such talk from him, and seeing him so enthusiastic about what he was saying, he left me no choice but to ask him the following questions:
1.- How much did they charge you there? ...… Answer 18-28 thousand dollars
The 2.-What diagnosis did they give you? ---------- Answer ... The same one from here
3.-What treatment did they give you? --- Answer ------ The same one here
4.-How much did you pay the doctor here? 200 Dominican pesos or about 5 dollars
So I told him… And what the hell are you talking about? Why are you not going to apologize to the doctor here who, with his intelligence and knowledge and nothing else, gave you a good exam, a good diagnosis, and gave you the best possible treatment ???
I did not get any response so to date, I have not set foot in her house again, despite the fact that the cousin has asked me earnestly
Here in the Dominican Republic, many suffer from the popularly called "Guacanagarix Syndrome", Indigenous Cacique, who thought that everything Spanish was better, just for the fact of being Spanish or say another way: Everything foreign is better (something that is not it's true), there are better, worse and the same
